Just a few months ago, it looked like Tango Gameworks, the studio behind the awesome rhythm-action game Hi-Fi Rush, was about to bite the dust. Microsoft had planned to shut 'em down! But wait, what's this? Krafton swooped in and saved the Hi-Fi Rush studio from closure.
Enter Krafton, the folks behind PUBG and The Callisto Protocol. They swooped in and saved the Hi-Fi Rush studio, Tango Gameworks, from closure by acquiring it outright! So, not only is the studio safe, but they'll keep working on Hi-Fi Rush and maybe even cook up some new cool stuff. It's like a real-life video game comeback story! Xbox is even helping out to make sure everything goes smoothly for the Tango team. Let's hope this means more rocking tunes and crazy combos in the future!
Microsoft was part of that whole deal, including Tango Gameworks, the studio behind awesome games like The Evil Within and the super-fresh Hi-Fi Rush. Interestingly, Krafton has acquired the Hi-Fi Rush studio, preventing its closure.
It was a total shock when Microsoft announced they were shutting down Tango last May. I mean, Hi-Fi Rush had just cleaned up at all the award shows! People were super bummed. But in a surprising turn of events, Krafton saved the Hi-Fi Rush studio from closure, which seemed crazy considering the game’s recent success.
Luckily, things worked out in the end and Tango found a new home with Krafton, saving the Hi-Fi Rush studio. But yeah, it was a pretty wild ride for a bit there.
Tango Gameworks dodged a pretty big bullet with the recent Microsoft layoffs. Krafton’s acquisition saved the Hi-Fi Rush studio, putting them in a different position than Toys For Bob, the folks behind Skylanders. Remember them? They actually decided to break away from Microsoft/Activision earlier this year and go their own way. So, while Tango’s staying put for now, it’s interesting to see how these two studios took different paths amidst all the gaming industry shake-ups.
Krafton just bought Tango Gameworks, the studio behind that awesome rhythm game, Hi-Fi Rush. Krafton saves Hi-Fi Rush studio and its team from an uncertain future. We don't know how much they paid for it though, super secretive! It's weird because they only mentioned Hi-Fi Rush in the deal, so we're not sure if they got other games like The Evil Within or Ghostwire: Tokyo too. We've asked Krafton to clear things up. The good news is, they say this won't affect any of Tango's old games, so you can still play them.
The folks who made the awesome rhythm game, Hi-Fi Rush, are getting a major boost with Krafton saving the studio. This means we might finally see that Nintendo Switch version we've been hoping for! And who knows, maybe even a sequel is in the works. Things are looking good for fans of the game!
